Show respect for our military personnel...

We may not all agree with what is going on in our world, but we must all agree that there should be a unified front where our military men and women are concerned. We have to give THEM our support and prayers and let them know that we are proud of them and it’s because of them and the other VETS that we have all the luxuries that we do have.
We have the freedom of speech and the freedom to bear arms. We have the right to choose our religion and the right to vote. And we owe all those rights to the men and women who have lost their lives ensuring our freedom.
We have to believe that this is not in vein and that the people of the distressed countries where OUR men and women are-are being set free and that they too shall persevere.

To honor our men and women of the Military Personnel they Will Receive FREE Sessions and NOW they will also receive discounts as well. If you are a military person or know of Military families, have them call to book a session on their next leave. God Bless America and God continue to bless our men and women. They hold us in their arms.

Say “Thank You” a lot!

If you haven’t read the previous blogs, I am naming off the suggestions of things to do in life from a book called “The Complete Life’s Little Instruction Book” by H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

It’s funny, I picked up this book at a Mall Book Sale for pennies on the dollar. I thought it would be a wonderful way of introducing new things that I haven’t done and remind me of things that I still need to keep doing. It was also a 'pretty' book. When one of my grand-daughters saw this book she came to me with eyes wide open and said, “Mieshaw, can I hold your special book?” I told her as long as she holds it close to her heart. So now when she comes over, she knows where she left it last…her eyes get big…she picks it up and hugs it and reminds me of how she "holds it close to her heart."

So back to the “Thank You” part. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! I have enjoyed this journey with you these past few years. I thank each and every one of my clients who are now a huge part of my family for allowing me into their homes and into their lives to capture the moments. I have photographed the pregnant bellies, the newborn child, the intuitive toddler, the tenacious teen, the glowing bride and the happy family. And at every step of the way have learned that I am giving a little piece of the gift that God gave me in doing so. I have always been told that I capture heart…and it is by the grace of God that is so. Thank you

Remember other people’s birthday

That’s easy if it is your family member. Right? It does get harder once your family starts to grow though. Kids get married and now you have the son/daughter-in-laws birthdays to remember. Then they have kids and there you go you have MORE dates to remember. Not to mention-you have to remember the birthday dates of all your friends. Thank goodness for PDA’s and Outlook Express- I would be lost without them. This was too easy. Feel free to comment on this or any of the Blogs below. -RoseAnn

Watch a Sunrise...

Not a sunset (those are easy)...but watch a sunrise and you can feel emotions rise up in you just as the sun rises to greet you. I watched my first sunrise on a beach my freshman year with the Senior Student Council class. It was cold...I wanted to be in bed...it was too early... There were about 10 of us all huddled under blankets we had taken from the Hotel. It didn't affect me until I watch the next one with my husband. Now that was a sunrise! I had the opportunity to photograph a sunrise with clients recently. Angelica and Eric met me at the beach early one morning to photograph their engagement session. I know they were feeling the same way we were feeling when Greg and I watched 'our' sunrise and I was reliving it through their eyes again. Plan to watch a sunrise...mark it on your calendar then call me to book a session to capture the moment.

Have a pet. (Better yet, have a professional portrait with your pet)

That is the second thing in your life the BOOK OF LIFE says is a must. We have had a few in our lifetime and each of them just as children; bring a different personality to the table. But regardless of how you are feeling, they are there for you with plenty of licks and wagging tails that put life into perspective. Why not book a session with your pet.

Why Wait!

12-18-06

Why wait? Why wait until the New Year to start an exercise program? Why wait until the New Year to begin spending quality time with your family? Why wait until the New Year to take that trip with your “Special” one? Why wait. Everyday is a new day and we all take it for granted. We believe that we have FOREVER to do everything we want to do and move in the circle of chaos until one day we wake up and see that we had a heart attack or that a family member died or now that special person is no longer a part of our life.

Today is a new day. Today I will accomplish something from the book entitled, “The Complete Life’s Little Instruction Book” by H. Jackson Brown, Jr. It is filled with quotes and anecdotes that just might help us to be in the moment and get done things that truly need to get done. So today…

  1. Compliment three people every day.

Nicole and Doug

Nicole, I know that you have more courage and undying faith and loads of family and friends who love you, support you and pray for you. We are ALL here for you.

The Huerta Family

The Family Huerta; from the moment I met your family I saw a deep respect and love and admiration that came forth. I know it’s because of the faith you have in God and the hard work that it takes to raise good children into fine adults.

Little Miss Lealah on her first birthday, daugther
of Jaime and Elliott.

Jaime, I can only imagine the hard work that goes into being a nurse in the pediatric ward of Herman Hospital along with being a mother. Just walking the maize within to find your place is a daunting task, much less the knowledge that is needed to provide the patients with the care that is needed. I thank all nurses of the world…for taking care of all our loved ones.

So there are my first three compliments of the day. Go forth and compliment the next person who crosses your path as I will. -RoseAnn

P.S. I am all about change, so I might not be doing this tomorrow :-) but I will surely try.

Virtual Backdrops or the REAL THING?

What do you want your portrait to be about? Is it about the props? Is it about the background? When you look at portraits, is it a memory that it evokes? When you look at a portrait is it the eyes that draw you in?

For me it has absolutely nothing to do with the backdrop or the props and everything to do with the person in front of that camera. For me –memories of the moment, the look, the smile, the touch, which evokes a memory of the past IS what I capture.

It’s the eyes that draw you in…

It’s the architecture that frames you…

It’s the flowers in the garden…

it’s the trees of the woods…

it’s the children in the park…

It’s the first born child…

It’s the tattoo…

the family on a stroll at the beach

Don’t give me VIRTUAL…give me the REAL thing. If you are ready to create a real memory…call us today.

Mammogram

December 12, 2006

I had a mammogram today…usually not the highlight of any women I know of, but it was for me in a lot of ways. Number one, it was done at the new facility off of 646, Victory Breast Diagnostics and Women’s Imaging and I was met by the kindest people and the warmest –spiritual atmosphere. God was truly there. The second thing was that as I was leaving, I noticed the "Wall of Courage", and thought of all the women who are truly to be honored as they go through the journey on healing. Even though there were no portraits on that wall - yet... my prayers and thoughts are with each of them that they become stronger in their health and in their faith in God. Please be sure to have your monthly check-ups and mammograms. Visit their website at www.victorybreastimaging.com -RoseAnn
