Little Angel Darby

I meet so many people in my life. It is told , I know no stranger. It's hard to believe that I was once a shy child.

I have been blessed in my life and I thank God for everything I have and every grace that has been given me. Our church talks about giving of your time, talent and treasure and because of my talent I volunteer my services within two organizations. I have been with Hospice for 4 years and another organization for 2 years called Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep. Both organization allow me to give what I am good at...My photography and my time to families and patients who are dying or who have died. Not all patients and families give permission to use their images otherwise I would write all their stories.

I was called by hospice to photograph this family. And what a joy. It is with their permission that I will share their images with you. Little Darby probably won't see her 1st or her 2nd birthday, but they will have the memories of the time they walked into my studio.

They arrived at my studio on a hot day in June with Mom, Heidi, getting onto Gavin, Darby's brother. He'd been given chocolate and instead of devouring it, he must have been savoring it because by the time we got him out of the back seat, he was covered in it. Not to worry because we got him all cleaned up in time for him to have his picture taken. He really was oblivious to it all being all of 5.

Nicole was beautiful. You could tell through her eyes that while she had gone through a lot in her 10 years, she was the loving big sister to her baby sister, Darby. Her hands were so dainty that you just know she would do great things in her life. Her eyes were truly the window to her soul and a good soul had she.

Heidi was not knowing what to expect. It was the first time they had taken professional photos and she was very unsure and nervous. But ask her today, and she truly enjoyed herself and it shows in the images. I had never met Heidi, but this I know, her life is the better for the life of Darby that she was blessed with.

As for Angel Darby, she probably didn't know what was going on during the session, but I believe that she felt all the love that was bestowed on her that day and I also know that love is constant and flowing.

Heidi came to pick up her images and DVD of the images we placed to music and the hug we received was the declaration, that we couldn't have given her a better gift than what she received. All our love and prayers are with them while they go through this process.
